The berries are collected (fresh or dried) and are given to the patient of damkutahi(asthma). It is considered very effective against this condition. Fresh berries are picked and directly applied to the face by local girls as a puru in order to protect their skin against cold winds and scorching sun while they are in high pasture with their herds.
