Seeds are collected, dried and ground. Then, by addition of few drops of water, a thin paste, called Puru is made. This is applied to the face by girls to clean pimples, and also to protect their faces from scorching sun while they are up in the higher pastures grazing their family’s herds. ln spring, the leaves are picked and a vegetable (shaklz) is made, which is very tasty.
