Roots are collected, cleaned, dried and stored. Dry roots are ground to a powder and mixed with sanabachi (local food prepared from butter oil and flour) and given for high blood pressure. The root powder is also fried in butter or mustard oil, and when it becomes reddish-brown then it is cooled and applied to the hair for dandruff, ’long and healthy hair’, as a hair dye and sometimes to remedy headaches.
