Fresh cones are boiled in water and the decoction is used against Ishkama Chomique (abdominal pain). Leaves are burnt and the ash obtained is mixed with ground tobacco to make naswar (snuff). The bark is collected from old trees and used as thatch on roofs. Juniper wood is commonly used as fuel wood in this region.
